Back in 1999, I bought a funny little plant from a Boalsburg sale. Put it on my Back porch (in may) and left it there. It grew! Then one night in August I stepped onto myback porch and was hit with the most wonderful smell! It had developed beautiful white flowers! By the next day, the flowers were drooping. So asked the Penn State experts to look at it. They identified it as an orchid cactus, sometimes called the dragon fruit cactus. No thorns! So I made many cuttings, and gave them away. I also brought 3 cuttings to florida, where they are thriving. Note: since they are all descended from a single plant, they do not produce fruit. I also have a few pix of my organix veggie and fruit gardens.
